Time:9:00 pm.
booo, spring break is over. =( now I just have to wait for summer. about 9 more weeks? guuuuh. just gotta hang in there until then.

some goals for the fourth quarter:
[schoolwise]: keep grades/gpa up, practice and improve SAT scores (they were horrible, I'm taking them again in June), make sense of calculus so I can get a decent grade on our final exam (my teacher's setting it up like an AP Calc exam...), do well on all the other final exams, get a good grade on APUSH test (I'd be lucky if I got a 3; I'd be extremely happy if I got a 4, but that is unlikely), get homework done earlier (includes using study halls wisely) and not leave any hw for Sundays, and get FCA leadership team organized and ready for summer/next year.
[other]: spend more time in devos, go to gym more often (might try going before school), get ready for Alaska, get back on track with WW, spend more time with my lovely friends, make cool grad gifts for Christy and Sarah, and get more sleep!

there's probably more I should be aiming at, but that's what comes to mind at the moment.

anyways, I guess I'll keep this thing somewhat updated.

On Friday I went over to Christy's and hung out with her, Michael, Stephen, Jeb, David, and later Robert and Thomas. uh, we played video games, ate pizza, and watched Fun with Dick and Jane. Christy and I felt like such girls because the guys were playing with air-soft guns and fire and yeah it was interesting. it was nice to relax though.
My Saturday was nothing special. I worked in the afternoon, went to the gym, and went on a walk with Kelsey. Later, my favorite neighbors (Kels and Abby) brought me Easter presents! haha, they brought me a died/decorated egg, a decorated orange, and a coloring page! it may sound odd, but it made my night. =)
So, Happy Easter everyone! I went to the late service today and I wore my new outfit, haha. but neither of my shopping partners got to see it, so I'll have to wear it again. Katie told me I looked like a tree, but a nice one. lol. anyways, after church I went out with my parents and my mom's side of the family to eat at the old country buffet. I took a nice nap when we got home and haven't done much else since then besides a walk and homework.

oh and here are some of my summer plans as of now:
-last day of school (June 14th)
-DC United game! (June 21; while Zach is on his break!; hopefully some other games too, and maybe a nats game or something)
-Alaska missions trip! (June 22-July 1)
-new life? (July 2-8) probably not because I know that at least Carina can't go, haven't talked to Olivia, and I'd be the oldest one there
-possibly helping with VBS if I'm in town (July 10-14)
-FCA leadership camp (dates undetermined)
-CBC summer retreat at Alpine! (July 25-29)
-working? I will probably do parties every once in awhile at the plex; I'm not sure if I want to do summer camps though. I might try to get a job at a local physical therapy office. We'll see.
-my family isn't going to the beach this year. =( it stinks. maybe my mom will take me and some friends to a closer beach for a few days.
-let's squeeze in some amusement park trips. season passes even? probably not, but that would be fun.
-and last but certainly not least: spending quality time with the friends and the fam.

I can't wait 'til summer.

Time:7:10 pm.
Yeah, so I know it’s been a while… my last update was in January, wow. So, I advise you not to read this whole thing; it’s gonna be long. The only one who I know will read this is my sister who is suffering in Australia. Enjoy.

Time to ketchup. )

Spring Break!
Okay, this is just what’s been happening lately, as it is spring break. We had last Friday off and I ended up working 12-6. After that I went to a World Changers meeting where we talked about upcoming dates and fundraisers and things. We were supposed to have a workday that Saturday, but both the workday and my soccer game got rained out. On Sunday, I went to church and chilled in the afternoon, went on a walk with Kels. I’ve been trying to clean my room so hopefully it’s really clean by the end of the break.
We rescheduled the workday for Monday. I worked at the Holley’s with Kelly, Stephen, Dennis, John, and Jim. It wasn’t anything too exciting. We went to lunch at Chick-fil-a and then I drove home to clean up and go out with Cambrie. We planned on watching Saved by the Bell but it was SO nice outside, so we stayed outside. We picked up slurpees, drove to Algonkian and took a long walk back behind the soccer fields. Cambrie pointed out how swampy it looked, haha. Then we went to a random park and swung on the swings for a long time. It was a nice afternoon.
On Tuesday, Christy, Sarah, and I had our shopping date! We went to Nordstrom Rack, Target, and the mall and got some pretty cool clothes. I got a whole dressy outfit that I’m going to wear on Sunday. I even got a pair of high heels! Yep. Bethany, I think you would like what I bought. We went shopping for soooo long, never again. Later, we ate some food and watched Memoirs of a Geisha, a pretty interesting movie.
Wednesday wasn’t very exciting. Today was fun though. I took Kelsey out on a picnic! I packed foods that we had inside jokes with (and there was a lot: trix yogurt, oranges, hard-boiled eggs, jello, and nilla wafers because they’re yummy). On the way we picked up some bagels from Einstein Bagels, and the guy gave them to us for free! Haha, he must’ve thought we were cute. jk. But yeah, free bagels. Then we ate at a picnic table at Algonkian and made plans to go fishing this summer! =) We came home and hid Easter eggs for Michael, Abby, and Amanda. After helping Michael find a bunch, I came home and took a nice nap.

But now I must be going; there is a lot that I still have to do before this week is over.

Subject:and they were dancin', and singin', and movin' to the groovin'....
Time:1:57 pm.
Music:"Play that Funky Music".
gross. exams start Tuesday. =( so this weekend is not going to be very fun: cramming for exams, working, and writing a bunch of essays on some books for AP. oh well, I will survive. hopefully.

tonight will be fun though. after work I'm going over to the Durham's for some DDR Karaoke haha. no singing for me though, unless I drag someone in with me. but dancing, oh yes. I should do DDR more often.

anyways, last weekend was pretty good. On Saturday, I had behind the wheelzy and watched football. Sunday- went to church and did homework and stuff in the afternoon. then we had Discipleship! I got Kelsey to come with me! yay! we met at Don's and then the guys and girls split up; we're doing a study called "Mean Girls." haha, the author talks funny and it's fun to read outloud. Big Juicy G! and I'm liking the people who are a part of it, so it's looking to be a good time of learning and fellowship.

(edit at like 1 in the morning...)

sooo this past week had its ups and downs. downs would consist of major stress for/at school and lack of sleep this week. the major ups would be chilling with Kelsey, getting licensed, and tonight.

On Monday afternoon, I had my last driving session and got my license! whoop! feels good. Laura was at my house when I got home; Bethany and she were hanging out. dang, Laura is like one of the coolest people ever; I love that girl! we ate dinner, went up to blockbuster, and then they watched a movie. Kelsey came over and we made a batch of jello jigglers for Mrs. Shirey! (she got her tonsils out recently). we made red (cherry). and I definitely burned the measuring container... I made a stupid mistake and put boiling water in a plastic container, and then once I realized it, I set the container on the red hot stove top burner. mmm, melted plastic doesn't smell so good. luckily we had a fan on the stove and it didn't set off the fire alarm. lol. so that was my Monday.

Toosday- after school, Kelsey and I got together to cut out the jigglers using cookie cutters! they were kinda Christmassy, but it worked. we got sooo hyper. it was fun. then she was mad at me for not going to youth group (not seriously). I like hanging out with that girl.

Wednesday- I drove to the store... by myself! it felt weird, but I can definitely get used to it. ahh I love the fact that I don't have to be dependent on other people for rides now. the only bad thing is that I have to share the car with Bethany until she leaves in February. but anyways, I bought bagels and cream cheese for Thursday's lunch- my last A-Day lunch with Cambrie and Brittany. so sad; that's my favorite lunch.
Cambrie quote: I'm wearing all black on friday...its going to be my "maryann-isnt-in-a-day-lunches-with-me-anymore-official-mourning-day" ...and yes, she wore a some black for me lol.

after school on Thursday, Bef and I went over to Ben&Jerry's for ice cream for leukemia/lymphona society donations and possible extra credit points for APUSH (hopefully). rest of night was spent on homework or avoiding homework.

Today- one long day. VR in the morning which was pretty good. school, blah, but not the worst. good parts: I saw Christy in the hall, Khalid came into guidance during 7th, and catch phrase in English class was actually pretty fun. oh and Mario reenacting the MLK speech. very good.
After school, I came home for about 15 minutes and then headed off to work. it wasn't too bad tonight, I only had to ref and serve for one party. but I was so tired and the hour of reffing soccer passed by too slowly.

After work, Kelsey and I headed over to the Durham's! wooosh. it was fun. well, for awhile we just sat around and watched other people karaoke. Jeb and Robert were the first duet I watched, and a very amusing one I might add. hmm, throughout the night: I did some DDR; hung out on the trampoline with Alicia, Kels, Christy, and Erica; hung out and talked to the previously mentioned, Chelsea, Morgan, Bethany, Jeb, Robert, Nick, Laura, Michael, Allie, Don, and more cool people; and finally near the end I did some Karaoke! haha so fun! I'm like addicted right now; I want to go karaoke. and if I had Playstation 2, I would definitely go and buy Karaoke and other versions of DDR. so I decided that I really like Karaoke, but under these conditions: 1) in good mood, 2) with friends and not strangers/people I don't like too much, 3) and if I know the song. it's kinda pathetic that I complained that I didn't know the words when they were scrolling across the screen right in front of me. lol. but I did both of my karaoke sessions with Kelsey; singing "Play that Funky Music" and "I love Rock and Roll." haha. there were a good number of people there though; so if I had started earlier and it wasn't so crowded, I would've sung a lot more.

okay, so then my mom drove me, some Camanns, and some V's home. Kels and Laura were so hyper in the car, it was amusing. but I am sooo tired. I'm going to bed soon.

bad news- Kovalenko is not going to be playing with DC United next season. he's going to the Ukraine I believe. =( so disappointing. I'll miss his pretty blue eyes and aggressiveness/short temper on the field. lol. he was one of my favorites.

okay so, I took some pictures tonight. but I think I might be buying a new digital camera soon!!!! yay I'm so excited! I just don't want to spend the money, lol. but I'm planning on making some big purchases in the next year and a half anyway: 1)new, better digital camera (mine is about 3 years old); 2)SNOWBOARD! and other equipment, hopefully; 3) and an ipod. I want to wait until I have my own laptop before I buy that though. so maybe like a year from now or so.
but the reason why I'm thinking of buying a new digital soon is because Bethany's camera is kinda crappy and unreliable; it has issues. and she is going to Australia in month and so I might let her use mine for the next 5ish months. we'll see.

wow, it just started pouring outside, and it's really windy so it's loudly pounding the windows and side of the house. but I'll be able to sleep; I am so pooped that it won't bother me a bit.

Time:11:45 am.
thank goodness, it's Friday. this week seemed so long. I guess that's how it always is after a break.

anyways, Tuesday night was youth group night. I embarrassed myself by playing volleyball lol, with like one good play. dang, I really like volleyball. I wish I had played when I was a freshman, but I missed try-outs. on second thought I'm kinda glad I didn't play because all I heard about volleyball was a bunch of drama. oh well. highschool. today at lunch, Cambrie, Brittany, and I had a good discussion about highschool and its people. I'm gonna miss my lunch with them! unless.... I can get a schedule change maybe? hmm.
ok back to youth group.. it was pretty good. Don spoke. I'm excited because we start discipleship on Sunday night and I feel like I get a lot out of that.

Wednesday/Thursday.. were both okay. nothing exciting. calculus is confusing me, so I have to work on that and SO MUCH apush work. so much, it's overwhelming. I strongly dislike that class. garsh.

today was alright. school-blah. came home for a few minutes then off to work. wow, Fridays at the sportsplex are crazy. so hectic, and everyone working was getting frustrated with one thing or another. oh well. it wasn't too bad for me tonight. just a bunch of loud kids. and getting stuck in an elevator! it wouldn't go up. and that's not the first time it's happened. I hate that elevator. so Kelsey was working too but I only saw her like twice and then we finished cleaning and took the trash out together.
a little while later after we got home, she and I hung out for a bit! we took her doggy on a walk in the dark. only on our street though! haha and we played Yukon Trail and hung out in my way messy room listening to music and chillaxing.

oh snap, I need to clean my room.
double snap, Kelsey and I are planning on making jello for Mrs. Shirey tomorrow.
triple snap, I think I'm getting my license on Monday! [finally].

PS.. Happy Birthday Bethany and Janelle!

Time:1:34 pm.
back to school.... gross.

I was in Georgia with the family (minus mom) from Thursday to Saturday. visiting our cousins and grandparents. we went to their mall which is a really nice mall. I wish ours was like that. but it's okay because I don't even like malls that much. anyway, the 'kids' drove around in Harold's car for most of the weekend and that was fun. soo much music.. the weekend was like a flippin musical. like during monopoly... "Newwww Yoooooooork". haha I loved it. I love music.

anywho, we got back around 9ish on New Year's Eve. BJ went to a party and the rest of us stayed home and had a low key night. maybe next year I'll actually plan something. who knows.

Sunday and Monday were my last precious days of break. I spent them going to church, watching football, going to Target, and working on homework. whoooo lots of fun. oh man I really don't like schoolwork. but I need to get into the habit of getting it done earlier. oh and we went out for dinner last night. lots of family time.

so Christmas break is over. =( it's so sad. it went by too quickly. now I just have to get through exams/midterms. the next couple weeks are going to be crazy hectic and full of cramming info and work into my life. whoopdeedoo. oh well, I guess I should stop complaining and get stuff done.

Subject:my 2005.
Time:10:25 pm.
Mood: reflective.
Music:HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!.
As the year is ending, I thought I’d do what I did last year and look back on the highlights and share some pictures to sum up my 2005.

To get the low-lights out of the way: I’d say the worst things about the year were good friends leaving (Joey moving to Kansas and Zach going into the Coast Guard) and my junior year really being kind of crappy (school-wise, so far at least). But it’s better to look at the positive than the negative. So here are the highlights of my year, and there are many:

-ski trip: best one yet! I got a lot better at snowboarding thanks to some helpful people; had a crazy fun time night snowboarding with some good buddies; and a very enlightening bus ride home getting to know this girl named Sarah.

-youth group- planet wisdom conference, Tuesday nights, for a while we had a discipleship group (hope we start that again soon); it's just the place to be.

-friends’ birthday parties- all of them were full of good times.

-spring soccer- (school)- it had its ups and downs; (sysa)- good stuff, it was fun going from one practice to the next, but very time consuming. My sysa team > pvhs.

-Slopfest!- fun time with Kels, Michele, and Launi; a good way to start off the summer of 2005.

-VBS- worked with Alicia and Mrs. Boyd with the Red Monkeys! I was a guide with them, so I walked around with a bunch of 2nd-3rd graders. This one kid, Joe, was my buddy and he was my favorite all week.

-sports camp at church- haha lots of fun; I was a soccer coach. two of my kids (by the way our team was Manchester United!) were probably better than me lol; and I got to know one of them, Sergio, better over the summer; he’s a cool one. And then I got Don to start a Saturday night soccer thing at church and that lasted for a little while during the summer.

-first job! I started working at the sportsplex in the middle of June; all summer I worked with the multi-sport camp.. basically played sports with a bunch of little kids the whole day; enjoyable but very tiring. I still work there, but doing parties. The tips are the main reason I’m still there lol; they can be pretty sweet. OH and Kelsey works there too; my lovely neighbor Ernie. =)

-camp!- worked up at New Life for a week; I was basically a junior counselor for Bethany and then did some odd jobs around the camp; it was good spending time with Bethany and Laura, and I made two new friends: Carina and Olivia!

-CASWELL!! oh snap!!! the summer retreat was so much fun. Just an insane week. Memorable moments: one crazily hyper oompa loompaing night; gained the best bunk buddy ever: Sarah, we had some WILD times; very emotional night; football! lol tackling Allie; funny car ride home; got to know a lot of people much better.

-Beach/Family time- I love my family so much; and now that I'm older I appreciate them more. I especially love it when my siblings are home.

-colleges- stayed with Kathryn at UVA and stayed with Bethany at JMU; still in the process of deciding where to go and what to do; right now physical therapy is my number one choice.

-fall sysa soccer- even though attendance dropped and our team was kinda stinky, I still had a good time with those who came. All-star tournament was not the best; I missed the regular Thanksgiving tourney; um, best parts were between games hanging out with my buddy Michele or playing keep-away with Saani and Rebekah lol.

-friends- making new ones and improving other friendships: a few at school, a few from soccer, two new cool kiddos from camp; but basically I’ve gotten closer to a good handful of homies from youth group. movie nights, snow days with snowball fights, pumpkin carving, eating jello, D.C. United games!, starbucks, starbucks “study group” or not, car rides, just anything with my amazing friends.

2005 was pretty sweet.

2006... should be even better.

Time:10:16 pm.
merry belated Christmas everyone and happy early New Year!
so, an end of 2005 post with pictures is coming up real soon. I know you must be excited.

so anyway, I said I would update.. a little while ago we had our first snow day of the school year! December 9th I believe it was. and let me tell you, it was one crazy day. first of all it was a snow day, which was awesome already. then my friends Christy, Sarah, Jeb, Brian, Robert, Nathan, and I all had a craaaazy snowball fight. it was tiring; I was sore the next day. then we had some hot chocolate and we all went to see the Chronicles of Narnia, which I might add was very good. then I came home and ate something really quickly and went out to Chuck E Cheese with some youth group girls. haha that was fun, I hung out with Chelsea and Morgan mostly and took lots of photos in the Chuckie booth. Mommy Powell is the bomb. then all those girls and I headed over to the Camann's house for Zach's Homecoming party! He got back from boot camp that day. (sadly, he is leaving for Alaska tomorrow). I hung out there until 11:30/midnightish then came home and slept.
so that has been the most eventful day recently.

um, I'm in the process of doing behind the wheel and should be getting my license in the next two weeks or so! yaaay! finally.

school is out for Christmas/NewYears break which is GOOD. I pretty much hate school. there are some things I like, but I'm pretty sick of it. I'm trying to decide whether to play soccer this spring or not. we've got a new coach. he's pretty cool and he'll be a good, tough coach. but I don't think I have the dedication right now. so I'm leaning towards a no for soccer. and if I change my mind to yes, then I'll have to get my butt in gear quickly.

anyways, we had our Christmas party last Tuesday. it was pretty slow until we started dancing. lol fun times. Ryan and I danced for a little bit. and then of course I danced with my dance partner Jeb. haha and Enoch tried to show me some moves but his stuff was kinda difficult with heels on. and we did the hand jive and swing dancing and boogied down oh yes.

so after that, I've been busy with Christmas shopping, Christmas celebrating, ice skating (well, more like watching the boys ice skate and eating in the warm restaurant), and me and Kels had a crazy fun night last Friday. hahaha I love that kid and that was the first time we had really hung out in a while. oh and Bethany is home for awhile; BJ was here this weekend. I love it when the family is all together. but the only bad thing is that my mom's ears are really bothering her and things are not exactly good in the area.

but now it's time to get some sleep. I have lots to do this week.

oh and me and Bethany just went outside in the cooold to say goodbye to Zachary. He called me his little sister, so that basically made my night, or week. I'll miss that kid.

Time:11:35 pm.
so, one week til Christmas?! dang yo, I need to do some MAJOR Christmas shopping.

anyhoo, this school week is gonna be sooo stressful, even though it's only three days. I missed two days last week, so now I'm going to have to make-up an English test, Chem test, APUSH quiz (along with its crapola work), Math Analysis quiz, and write and give a speech for English (gag. that's like the worst even though it only has to be about 2-5 mins). =[ yeah, buckets of fun.

okay so no more non-school related internet for now, though I plan to update later this week. I've had some fun snow days and such.

ps... I updated my webshots a bit if you want to take a looksy.

=)

Subject:Thanksgiving/Birthday and a blur of the past week
Time:12:18 am.
Music:david crowder band.
yeah so here's a warning: my journal entries are going to be crazy long because I don't have time to write in here everyday and I kinda like the fact that not many people use lj anymore and if you actually take the time to read the whole thing then.. congratulations? well I know my sister will but I think she should actually write in her lj also so I can actually know some of what's going on in her life. yeah, it's kinda pathetic that a family has to keep in touch this way. but when she comes home, then all is normal again.

anyway, last update was like 2 weeks ago.
the two days of school before break were alright. nothing interesting to say about school really.
Monday night- I worked; it was crazy hectic but I got tips (yay).
Tuesday night- we had our YG Chinese food dinner. it was fun. we ate and hung out for a while. then we split up girls and guys to talk about wog bonds and the rest of the year. OH snap, talk about embarrassing.. all of us girls were sitting around this big table and random chairs and Natalie and I were sitting on the couch. out of nowhere we hear someone let it rip. and it was loud. so everybody looks around, over in my direction. Sarah, who was sitting in front of me, looks at me and I at her, because we each thought the other was guilty. but then we hear another lovely farting noise, with a bit of a different tune, lol. and to the right of me is a pile of coats and we realized that it was Jeb or Brian's fart machine. haha sooo funny but it was so awkward for a minute there. because, us being girls, we were all polite and didn't say anything. haha Jeb was the guilty one though, we found it in his coat and Mommy Powell took it. but then, as she was talking and being serious about how much she was gonna miss us and wanted to make our WOG bonds with her awesome, it kept making farting noises. since it was on a timer, it went off a few more times until she chucked it across the room and it turned off. oh boy, I slapped Jeb after that one, but not hard. nothing like that one time I got Robert.
in Sarah's words...:
"no Maryann, admit it, he's a low-down, fart-machining, dork-flipping jerk. An insanely hilarious jerk, but a jerk all the same. lolllll.....we were both trying to be nice, but at the same time making sure it was clear that it WASN'T us . Mrs Powell: "I'm just going to miss you all so much (fart machine noise)...........you don't know how much you all mean to me (another akward noise)........I'll always be there for you, no matter what (long, drawn out noise)..."

Jeb, way to screw up the moment there, buddy, I'm sure mommy powell will forgive you eventually. "

so that was interesting.
then Kelsey and I hid in Christy's car hoping to scare her and Michael, but it didn't work very well. and then we locked ourselves in there, twice. lol. well, not exactly locked in there, just stuck.

so, on to Wednesday... I didn't really do a whole lot. I cleaned in my room and worked on a little homework. but most importantly I slept. ahh it felt so good. I need another day to just have no responsibilties or plans and all I can do is sleep. oh well. Bethany was home all weekend and that night we went out and bought Christy's bday present. and it snowed!! a white Thanksgiving! kinda.

Thursday- Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to Christy... in the morning, Bef and I got up ealry to see the sunrise and take pictures of the park for photo. But it was cloudy and my camera or the film was messing up so that didn't work out. BJ got was home by the time we got up so it was good to see him and I'm glad he got to come for a little while.
I pretty much chillaxed around the house for the morning. then all of us went over to my aunt's house for the family get-together. we watched football and talked and the normal get-together routine. my cousin's daughter Madi is so cute! we ate dinner, and of course, the best part was the mashed potatoes. actually I don't really like the other "turkey day foods" that much, maybe a little turkey and some bread. ok that's enough for the food.
BJ, Bethany, and I hung out that night, we played some cards with my dad and then us three played Trouble! and Clue. it was good hanging out with them. =) but that unfortunately doesn't happen often enough.

Friday! my 17th Birthday! woohoo! I won't feel older 'til I get my license (which will be soon!! heck yes). let's see, I vowed to do no homework on my birthday and that was an easy promise to fulfill. Bethany and I decorated cupcakes in the morning- they were some pretty cool ones too! it was a nice relaxing day. in the afternoon, I baked a few batches of cookies for Christy's party (cheeeewy just like she likes them, and most of my other friends) and then went over there. yea, I went to my friend's birthday party on my birthday. but it's okay because I still got to spend time with my favorite people. =) we watched movies and ate and laughed and laughed so hard we cried and made fools of ourselves and talked and talked. oh boy, for being seventeen I surely do show my maturity [ex. Baby BELUGA!] so funny. hehe Christy and Sarah.

on Saturday I should've done a bunch of hw and gotten tons of stuff done but it didn't happen and I feel really stupid for practically wasting my Saturday. =( oh well, gotta learn from my mistakes, because Sunday's late night rush for hw was NOT fun.

but the other parts of Sunday were fun! Church- I was a small group leader for Sunday School for some questions/discussion. "we are like mitochondria=powerhouse!" lol. and the service and such and then I went home and got ready to party!
then, Kelsey and I drove out to the roller skating rink and met Sarah and Amanda there. hehe roller skating. it's so fun. but afterwards my muscles were sore. anyway, we skated, sang, tried to dance, watched football, and laughed at the other people who fell because we didn't fall at all!! ok we didn't actually laugh at them, because that would be mean.
okay then we went back to my house. Amanda went home and Christy came over. we watched Wayne's World, ate food, and did a little DDR. Kels made me the sweetest cd ever of songs that remind her of me. =) and bert & ernie stuff lol. so we chilled around for a while and then everybody left.
then as I was cleaning up, Robert and Jeb stopped by! haha they brought me a cardvelope and ate our mexican dip and cupcakes. Bethany and I talked to them for a little while. oh and Jeb gave me his fart machine, LOL. so funny. and Robert thinks I'm an amazing cook so now I have to actually learn how to cook well and live up to that. it was nice of them to visit, I've always wanted people to randomly come by just to see me. but that wasn't completely random because it was my birthday and all, but still very sweet of them.
then I stayed up reallllly too late doing schoolwork. gag/choke.

MONDAY-FRIDAY- this past week was not very good. it started off badly with a lack of sleep and kept building up, breaking me down. so school was pretty much gross, except for the fact that Cambrie is back. yeah my dose of Cambrie helps me get through the day. hehe.
Monday night- NHS inductions. pretty much a waste of time but luckily was shorter than I thought it was gonna be. thought of michele as I walked on stage trying not to fall. lol
Tues night- I went to youth group. I probably shouldn't have because I had way too much hw and all we did was decorate for Christmas. me and Allie worked on a tree and Katie and Alicia joined us. I decorated Nathan. and hung out in the bathrooms with the girls decorating them. but I think Robert took down the decorations in the boy's bathroom, party pooper. oh and by the way, it's really awkward to be in a men's bathroom with a bunch of girls and a bunch of guys. so me and Christy scooted out of there and then everybody did a few songs and that was it.
Wed/Thurs.. nothing of importance.
Friday VR in the morn, then I worked right after school. Kels was there so it was more bearable.=) and Jon was there and he was helping me. and with my Kelsey's and Jon's teamwork, we got done on time! maybe even Early!! yay. no tips but I did see the Didomenico's(minus Sarah, dorkflip fo rmissing her brother's game and not seeing me and Kels at work). so I talked to all of them, and seth for a few, and saw John, and then Launi picked Kels and me up. I went home, relaxed for about an hour, and then slept.

TODAY........ woke up early to take the SAT's. um, I don't think I did very well. But it was my first time so I'll hopefully improve. then Mom picked me up and we went to Einstein bagels. the I got a haircut and went to Kohl's to look at their pea coats. I saw Katie NOTO there! I love that kid! I talked to her for a few minutes and then later while I was trying on coats she snuck up on me and actually got me with a wet willy. (yeah, that's our thing that we always do to each other, or try to do). but I wasn't going to let her leave without my getting her back so I did. and then I went home, took a nap, watched a movie, did some hw, and now I think I'm going to bed.

whoa buddy, that was a lot.

Subject:tournament weekend
Time:1:31 am.
oh boy.
so instead of doing homework, I just get on here. aagh I hate homework. I have such a poor work ethic at the moment.

anyways, Thursday and Friday at school.. I don't remember much. lots of tests and quizzes lately. I really have to catch up on a lot of stuff. =(. I went to Cambrie's play on Saturday night and that was cool. amazing job, Cambrie!! um, I think that's about it for school-related items.

soccer is now over.
at our Thursday night practice it was SOOO COLD outside. and it was only me, Michele, Hannah, Dorothy, and Saani (plus coaches). but despite the harsh weather and lack of people, it was fun. lol Saani and Michele keep making fun of me because of my outside kick/flick thing. but hey, whatever works. and then we did PK's with me and Michele switching in goal and wow did I stink. I maybe blocked like 1. haha good thing I didn't have to play goalie!!! which brings us to the all-star tournament this weekend.

well, it was a tiring one. on Saturday we played four 25 minute games and we couldn't leave so we were there from 8:30-2:30, so like six hours. hmmm. did not do so good. ok, we played like crap. I played like major crap and made way too many mistakes. I made up for one of them, but still, it was bad. there were just so many tiny things that if I had done them than we wouldn't have done as bad. but I guess I shouldn't beat myself up about those things because it's all over. so in all (on Sat. still), we lost 2 and tied 2. the last two games were a little better but not by much.

Mr. B isn't going to be with us next season and then he's going back to Germany in the spring/summer. so sad!! we had to say goodbye to him this weekend. lol he's so funny. on Saturday he kept coming around and feeding us different German foods and then today he was singing "Barbara Ann" and the "Manah Manah" song. haha. I will miss him.

today (Sunday) I went to the early service and then went to my game at 10. we played SO much better than the day before and we won. I'm glad that we didn't go through the whole tourney without one win. but it was still frustrating. very. I don't know, just a handful of things mixed together and it made the games so much less fun. I'm so glad that Michele was there though. I basically hung out with her most of the time. hope your knee feels better, buddy. I like being on the field with her because most of the time we know what each other is thinking. and she's super cool off the field as well.

okay so then since we won, we got to play at 12:30. while we were watching one of the other games, maybe like 8 or so of us we all laying down on our stomachs in a row next to the sideline. we looked pretty funny. but I brought my ducky blanket and used it as a pillow and it felt so good to just lie there. and then Hannah cracked my back and that felt good too. I want to learn how to crack people's backs. Bekah did mine when we went to Half Moon one day and it hurt but felt uber good afterwards. my back is weird, I screwed it up when we went to Montreal and now every once in a while it hurts like crazy. but maybe that's a combination of monthly things. anyways, back to soccer.

we played Herndon, one of the better teams in the league, and we dominated the first half but then something went wrong and we got all discombobulated again and things went downhill. so we lost 0-1. but in a way, I'm kinda glad we lost because the tournament was getting a little more frustrating and I was pooped. I still am, I need to go to bed. but let me finish first..

so fun things about the tournament, (already mentioned) hanging out with my pal Michele, playing keep-away with Rebekah vs. Wendy and Saani, Mr B because he's that cool, and actually having Candace there because I haven't seen her in weeks, possibly months, and I like that girl.

I also worked on Friday night. Kelsey was working too so that was good! and Jon was there and he's always nice and helps me clean up to get stuff done quicker. then he gave me and Kelsey all the extra balloons from the night, which is weird because people usually take their balloons. so anyway, we had an awkward moment with this kid and the elavator. things are always funnier when you're with someone. but uh then we finished cleaning and split up the balloons and went home. I brought my balloons to the game and then I gave them to Michele. hehe. then she kept them tied to her bag all weekend! yay.

oh and astroturf.. the smoothness of the field is awesome and I love it. but it really hurt my muscles and know I am super sore. I gotta a few bruises but nothing too extreme. um okay, I think I'm done talking about soccer. I don't necessarily think that I'm going to miss playing with my team during the winter, but I'll miss some of the people.

gah, then tonight Jeb and I were talking about decisions that concerned our going to yg and stuff. and I am totally still undecided about spring. sysa soccer for sure. but school soccer? tennis? or just sysa? I don't knooooow. hmph. I don't even know what direction I'm leaning towards. but I'll have to make a decision sometime soon.

okay goodnight. I just have to make it through 2 days of crappy schoolwork and late nights because there is SO much work I have to get done. aaaah Thanksgiving break is so close, I can almost touch it.

Subject:me a PT?
Time:12:38 am.
yea. so, I still have a TON of stuff to do tomorrow (Thursday), it's gonna be a long night.

but I thought I'd write in here a bit.
today I got to miss school! instead I went to Inova Rehabilitation for this job-for-a-day thing. this other girl and I shadowed a physical therapist (well, there was one main guy and then others that were there). it was really cool and I am seriously considering doing that as my career. it's interesting, not the same thing everyday because each patient is different. and the patients were anywhere from a little 6 or 7 year-old to middle age to the elderly. and they treated all types of injuries, including athletic injuries. also, the PTs got to know their patients pretty well because they spend more time with them. whereas doctors may see a bunch of patients in one day for like barely 5-10 minutes each, and how many times a year? maybe 3?, well not many [not trying to dis the doctors though]; the physical therapists that I shadowed see around 10-12 in a day and spend at least a half-hour with them and the patient comes back more often, like maybe an average of twice a week. and it seems like a rewarding profession because you are helping people restore/improve their health and get back to normal life. and a rewarding job is definitely a must for me. but it’s a lot of schooling! they know sooo much and they had to know all types of tests to figure out and diagnose a problem and well, there’s just a LOT to learn. and there's no bs-ing your way through college with a career like that. 4 years undergrad and then 3-3.5 years master’s I think.
So this is what I am playing around with in my mind…
Go to JMU or somewhere it’s offered and major in athletic training (that’s the only school I’m seriously considering right now that has that major)- found out that it’s very time consuming because you have to complete a certain amount of hours and get lots of experience
OR I could go just about anywhere (JMU, UVA, VT, like almost every basic college in America) and major in biology.
I don’t think they have an undergrad program for physical therapy but I should probably start researching stuff like that.

one more thing, I think I might double major or at least take more classes in Spanish. so it sounds crazy because I'm not that great at it, I can't speak it very well at all, but I think I might do it. one thing that my mom keeps telling me is that it will be very helpful in any career that you choose. and there was one patient today who spoke only Spanish and the PT was pretty proficient in it and I could understand the gist of their conversation. and Laura made me actually appreciate Spanish and want to get better at it because I listen to her and she's practically fluent. you know how awesome it would be to be fluent in every language?! then you could communicate with anyone and wow, that would be tight. lol including cute Italian boys you meet on the metro. okay, that was sort of a tangent, but yeah, I'm considering majoring or minoring in Spanish.

but wow I really don’t know if I’m ready to make big decisions about college and my future yet… guidance, that’s what I need. No, not guidance at school, although it’s helpful for stuff like that. But I really want God to point me in what direction He wants me to go in. because, the way I look at it, I’m going to end up where He means for me to end up anyway so I may as well not be stubborn and get it right on the first try. But we shall see.

So those are my thoughts about my not-so-immediate-but-will-get-here-before-I-know-it future.

on a side note, I was taking a break (long one) from my hw tonight and found something that really made my day. you know how just about everybody loves reading something about them or having their name in someone's profile or survey or something, right? well it was one of those things. little, and the person will never know, but it just made my day a lot better. =)

Time:12:23 am.
so so so.. going to Robert's play was fun. Sarah, Nathan, Jeb, Brian, and I all went. I think Sarah and I laughed a little too much during the play. Yeah, I know you're supposed to laugh during funny plays but we were laughing at the wrong parts, so it was just us trying to hold in laughter to not look like dorks. but we are dorks so we looked just like them! but hey, you can never laugh too much. =) Robert, excellent job. lol afterwards all of us hung out with Robert in the foyer and then we were outside in the parking lot forever! whoa man, Jeb and Brian are crazy hilarious together. it was fun. I was being shy-ish/quiet then but I basically just laughed the whole time. then we went to McDonald's and home and that was my night.

SUNDAY! was excellent. mostly excellent. church was great because I got to talk to some people I hadn't seen in a long time. like one of the coolest kids ever, Katie NOTO. I don't really call her that though. just Katie.
I went home after church and then to our Championship game! yeah, and you know we won! snaaaap. bittersweet part was me and Michele having to play goalie again. dang. bitter--they scored on me once, I wanted Candace to be there, and goalie is just not fun for me anymore because I stink at it now. sweet part-- me and Michele were at least able to endure it together, and the fact that we won was pretty tight. our team and the teams we played weren't that amazing, but oh well.

Monday, Monday. school wasn't great, not that it ever is. but I did get to miss most of flex due to the doctor. and I had a good time talking to Wolfgang and Ms Hatcher. they are both pretty cool.
then we had practice for like 50 minutes. I hate how it gets dark so early! oh well. so there were maybe 7 people at practice? oh the dedication. well I guess some of it's excused, but still.

today was alright. after school I went to Hannah's real quick and then we went to soccer practice. we have it almost every day this week! but boy do we need it. the only thing is that everybody needs it and not everybody comes. today we had six I believe. oh well, no use in complaining. dang, Michele is like my favorite person in the history of my soccer playing.
Speaking of soccer, we played that tonight during youth group. so that was fun. I hate it when people get too competitive when it's just a fun game, but everybody was pretty good tonight. I want to see if Don wants to do indoor soccer or something at church because I'm gonna be so deprived during winter! we'll see. hm, I went to Kelsey's group tonight because she was lonely. we got the giggles a lot. (lol) and then I called Nick giggly. yeah, we (at least me) were just in goofy moods tonight. and Kels made me rings and a bracelet out of tape saying things like "you know it" and such. haha. afterwards we hung out for a little bit but then everybody who was left (which wasn't much) left. so we figured we'd follow the crowd and we came back to dooooooogwood. with frosties. which made the car ride funny. =)

okay so I have SOOOO much work to do between now and Friday. it's definitely anything but funny. the pile keeps growing and growing and I don't know how I'm going to get through wed/thursday night and friday morning. GAAAAAH. school=stress. and I've had poor work habits all year and it's definitely NOT good.
I want to curl up and sleep until friday night, enjoy the weekend, and then skip on over to Thanksgiving break. I really think we should just have the whole week off. I mean, we're celebrating a great holiday here! like I said...it's awesome! it combines time with the family, friends, time off school, my and christy's birthdays, AND mashed potatoes! mmmm.

goodnight. necesito dormir.

Time:5:42 pm.
woooosh. me + Michele = best team ever! haha we had to play goalie today in our SFL tourney. can you say shutout?! wow, our team isn't the greatest, but we still won. Katie and Andy had sweet goals. so anyway, this means we have another game tomorrow. next weekend is the herndon tournament and I'm more excited for that one. I think it'll be more fun.

anyhoo, last weekend I was at JMU so that was fun. monday/tuesday I did practically nothing and I feel like such a bum. maaaan I want another 4day weekend now! but Thanksgiving break is real close!
and colleges... my main choices are JMU and UVA and then tech as a back up. but I don't really want to go that far. but hey, I still have lots of time to decide. SATs in December, yuck.

yesterday VR went really well. Ms Thomas spoke and everything just seemed to go very well. hopefully it continues to improve like that.

okay so I'm in dire need of some time with people I haven't seen in forever. sooo Sarah just called and a few of us are going to support and watch our dear friend Robert in a play.

yay! but wow I need to get some hw done. that can wait. =)

yesss four day weekend! so far I've spent it down at JMU with my sister and her friends. it's so pretty! compared to back home, the leaves are sooo much more beautiful down here!
well, I've been to IV, toured the campus, and hung out around her townhouse since Friday. yesterday we met Sheri and Stephanie for lunch and some CBC ladies showed up! Mommy Powell, Janelle, Mrs. Soltess, and Andrea! 'twas a pleasant surprise and I know Bethany was really excited. Bethany's friends/roommates are all really nice. other than feeling a little sick on Friday, it's been a pretty good trip. BJ and the rents are coming here in the next half an hour or so and we're going out for a bit. yay family time. over the years I've come to appreciate my family so much more, even if I don't always show it.

okay but now I have to go because BJ just got here!

and I think I'm gonna try and update this thing more often..

Time:8:24 pm.
okay so two weekends ago was hekka tight. DC United game was a blast. OH yea buddy. it was me, Kelsey, Zach, Sarah, Christy, Nathan, Jeb, Brian, and Michael. yes, a big group. I definitely like smaller groups better. but we still had fun. I met an Italian guy on the metro! he was in the US for only a month and he didn't speak much English. but he was really sweet (and kinda cute) and so I helped Francesco! get to the stadium. I felt bad because he was by himself and I didn't ask him to sit with us because you can never be too sure about strangers- there are some bad eggs out there! but meeting Francesco was cool.
and we sat with the crazy hispanic guys like we did last year. OLE! too bad DC lost. =( but guess what?! blackout is back. yeahyuh. but we can't exactly go to the games. =[

so it was a three day weekend. and Sarah and Christy picked me up from work and we hung out. =) we carved a pumpkin! and watched a scary movie and just had good quality time. Kelsey and I should carve another pumpkin and make it like a tradition or something.

this past weekend was sad. =( Zach left for Boot Camp on Monday. but we did get to hang out on Sunday night. that was good. but just keep him in your prayers.

soccer=not so bad. not so great because our team isn't the best. I love playing with Michele because we just rock. Andy and me flung mud at each other the other day but then we found out it smelled like poop. haha.

school=extremely gross. too much school work and too many long nights. I am completely sleep deprived. no es bueno. gotta get into some better routines.

hello hello. I'm in school at the moment, avoiding homework. school is so hard this year. I hate how much work I have but I know it's good for me because if everything was easy-shmeezy right now then I would definitely die when I got to college.

so anyway, on saturday we won our soccer game 2-1. near the end of it I had so much energy and was very hyped up so that was fun. it reminded me how much I enjoy playing. I don't think our team is as good as we used to be, maybe we just need to get into the groove of things again. Michele and I were captains (yayuh) last week. we tied a really stinky team so that wasn't fun. and it was so hot out! hotness + running = bad headaches. our first game was hot too, I think we lost. I don't know it was like three weeks ago.

okay well, gotta go to eighth period now.

"man Maryann and Kelsey's cake feels like your taking a bite out of a cloud." -Jeb

haha okay so one night me and Kelsey baked a cake. and decorated it with pretty sprinkles. =) while watching kung fu hustle. I want to buy that movie, it was amusing. anyway, the boys ate most of the cake after we left and that's what Jeb had to say about it. and then later..
jeb: u should be a profesional ...cake maker
jeb: baker
jeb: caker

hahaha what a funny kid.

ok so tonight I was talking to my friend Carina and she wrote me a song or two and vice versa. haha I love her! this girl is way cool and if you ever get the chance, you should get to know her and her awesomeness. too bad she lives so far away!! okay it went a little something like this....

Time:8:05 pm.
phew. first week of school. with plenty more to go. I'm not gonna lie, I'm really not looking forward to this school year; school-wise that is. ok so I have a few funny teachers and some classes with friends, but I'm just not "thrilled" about school. I don't have any classes with Cambrie but I eat lunch with her everyday. on A-days it just me and her, B-day lunches have more people. but she's gonna leave me this year! I have a way cool locker buddy again. Her name is Christine. and I'm glad I have some classes with Nghi; if ya ever read this, I was gonna say I kinda miss you and the good old days in PE and when you used to draw me pictures during lunch. =) okay so anyway, the workload is gonna be pretty heavy. procrastination must cease.

but the awesome part about this school year will tooootally be chillaxin with my homies (esp ones who are gonna leave me next year)! I went out to dinner and starbucks with Sarah and Christy on Tuesday and wow, we laughed so hard and talked for soooo long. it was a blast. I'm really looking forward to spending quality time with everyone. HAY..if you're in the neighborhood, feel free to drop by. you know I hate being an "only child." this goes for Kelsey, too. I definately have to get off my butt and spend lots of time with her because I don't want to look back and regret that I didn't take advantage of having such an awesome friend live across the street. =)

my sister's in town! she threw (with the help of me and mom) a bridal shower [chocolate themed] for Launi today!! we had fun making chocolate mice last night. =) but wow, I have eaten way too much. I feel like I'm gonna explode. it was a crazy day.. running around doing last minute things and cleaning and then there were loooots of people in my house! but it went well and Launi had fun and that's all that matters. she's getting married so soon!!! ah people grow up so fast. I want to say thank you to Abby for making me laugh a lot today. she is one of kind. =)

ok what else did I do this week? soccer started on Monday!! yayayay! practice was fun. just catching up with people and everything. then on wednesday I had a meeting for work so I had to skip practice. =( ah well.

hmm I think I might try to squeeze in some homework tonight. what fun.

three years? wow, so much has happened over three years; so much has changed. but I felt I had to say that I still miss you, Jacob. I hope you know how much your life impacted me. can't wait to see you again.

Time:12:41 pm.
Mood: a little bouncy right now.
Music:oompa loompa...
hi! like how I haven't updated all summer? yea, me neither. it was a good summer, full of lots of laughter and crying and growing and good times etc. maybe I'll do a summer recap sometime this week.

OH schnap. Bekah! 'tagged' me with this thing. and I don't feel like reading my book for apush so this looked appealing. =)

Ten things that make me happy [in no particular order, and not the top 10 either]

10. looking at old photos.
9. listening to my brother sing. or just any boy who sings from his heart. esp my brother =)
8. baking something for people and then them really enjoying it.
7. playing soccer with some of my favorite people ever.
6. goofing off instead of playing soccer with some of my favorite people
5. belching louder than my competitors hehe
4. being able to let go
3. when people give me something they made or spent time on (even like a note or something. I'm extremely sentimental and I'll probably keep it forever)
2. good rollercoasters
1. being outside and watching awesome thunderstorms. =)

oh my goodness I could write a book and fill it with thousands of things that make me happy. but this list only asks for ten. anyway, tag yourself because I'm lazy like that.

okay I really should go read. here's my inspiration to do my summer reading: the oompa loompas!!.... oompa loompas you ask? why of course. just listen, er read...
What do you get from a glut of TV
A pain in the neck and an IQ of three
Why don't you try simply reading a book
Or could you just not bear to look
You'll get no
You'll get no
You'll get no
You'll get no
You'll get no commercials

Oompa Loompa doompety da
If you like reading you will go far
You will live in happiness too
Like the - Oompa -
Oompa Loompa doompety do

hehe.

eeek! school starts tomorrow.

Subject:all-stars weekend!
Time:7:00 pm.
this weekend was pretty sweet. well the tournament games were not so great, but everything before, during, and after was awesome!! it started off with me and Kelsey buying bagels, which was pretty funny. then we had our first game and we won! whoo victory dances all around. it was our only win. that game was amusing, especially with me and Hannah (well, mostly her) singing in the back line. then home to rest and back out to the field.
before our second game, Michele, Candace, Andy, and I all went out on the field without shoes and fooled around during another team's half time. that was fun. if only the game was that much fun. the other team scored in like the first 2 minutes-it was kind of my fault. I played sweeper almost the whole weekend. then for the rest of the game we played hard and they didn't score anymore, but neither did we. guh, the coach got annoying though. he was being stupid about playing times and positions and Michele and Kels were on the bench for way too long.

on Sunday, I woke up early and went to the early service. then off to our last game. it was at a highschool's football field and it was all astroturf! ouch. haha this lady that was there cheering for the team before us was cracking us up. "go yellow go" she'd turn everything into a little chant or song. and she was sooo loud. haha I felt bad for the lady's daughter. anyway, at half-time we were tied 1-1. then we scored. the coach was being poopy again. Michele and Kelsey were so mad and I was too because it was just stupid what he was doing. and one of the asst coaches was a meany-head and yelled the whole game. I hate it when people yell at me. anyway, the other team scored off my crappy handball in the box. argh soo frustrating. another goal because of me. oh well, it's over.
after the game, my mom and Michele's mom were talking for a while so we talked for a while. man, I already miss soccer. =( I love being on the field and seeing my friends do a good job. it makes me happy. seriously, you should see me back there, how big I grin. =D and goofing off at practice is the best. but anyway, good news is that everybody (well my good friends at least) is coming back in the fall! at first Andy and Candace weren't going to. but I wrote a cute little note (I felt like such a nerd writing it lol) to Candace's mommy and after the game she was like "Thanks for making me cry! Now I have to let her play!" yay! mission accomplished. and Andy decided to play and just come on Saturdays. hoooray.

then I came home, rested, watched the DC United game, and hung out with Kels in her driveway for a while.

ok then what? monday- very relaxing, it was excellent. I went for an itty bitty jog and then to the gym. then I hung out with Kelsey for a long time. we made orange jello and colored forever! lol Bert&Ernie! we are so weird. and sometimes we think so alike it's crazy. then when she went home we both got online and had a discussion with Michele about how great blue jello is. and hoooopefully on saturday, some cool people are coming over to play soccer and eat jello.

yay can't wait.

ok today I didn't do too much in the morning. then I had my first day of work! I'm so happy that Molly was there with me for at least a little bit because I know her from school soccer. then I was left in charge of ten kids! it was kinda boring and I wasn't exactly sure what I could and couldn't do. some of the kids were adorable but almost all of them were so whiney. ah well, I guess it went okay. now I'm just pooped.
